WestBridge Vocational (WBV) is proud of our excellent employees and desires to highlight them as much as possible. One of those employees is Brittany Moore. Brittany is a native of Jackson County, NC, and resides in Sylva. A 2014 graduate of Smoky Mountain High School, she began working for WBV, (formerly Webster Enterprises), as a production worker in 2015. Shortly after her start, she was selected as a Quality Technician in part because “she is eager, willing, and always ready to go above and beyond in her job duties,” says her supervisor Mrs. Brenda Gunter, Director of Quality.

What do you do at WestBridge Vocational? Job title?
I work as a Quality Technician. I make sure that everything is held up to our customer’s and WBV’s quality standards.
What do you find the most challenging and most rewarding concerning your work?
The most challenging part of my work is when two or three things go wrong in one day. There may be an employee with a cut on their finger, and the bleeding could contaminate a drape, or a bad die could have been used on a drape. The most rewarding part of my job is finding a big, concerning issue during the inspection process. I almost feel like a hero saving the day!

When you read our Mission Statement below, how does your job help carry out this task?
We are WestBridge Vocational—a social enterprise connecting people to opportunity through our quality-driven manufacturing. We are dedicated to empowering all people with barriers to employment by providing training opportunities that inspire them to learn, earn, and thrive in a world that may not understand their needs.
I think teaching others about quality is very important because everything has a “quality” to it. Such as everyday chores like folding laundry, washing dishes, or cleaning your home. No matter what barrier you have, you can find your way of doing things and follow your quality. It also helps with other jobs as well like stocking shelves.
Which superhero, movie character, villain, or sports icon would you choose to be and why?
Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be Sailor Moon. She’s the kind of girl who loves food, plays video games, loves her friends, and would do anything for them. She saves the world from worldly bad guys and protects those she loves, even when she’s scared. She is someone I can always relate to.
